AOH Scholarship Exam

The Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 4 hosted a New York State AOH scholarship exam. Two high school seniors, Liam Leery and Francis O’Conner took the exam under the watchful eye of the exam proctor, our own division President, Mr. Tom Dougherty. The two young men sat more than six feet apart to encourage safe social distancing during the current COVID-19 pandemic, not to discourage cheating.

2020 GM Ball and Parade

The Ancient Order of Hibernians again played gracious host to the Huntington St. Patrick’s Day Parade and the Grand Marshal Ball. The weekend festivities kicked off Friday evening with the official introduction of the 2020 St. Patrick’s Day Parade Grand Marshal, the Honorable W. Gerard Asher, at the prestigious Huntington Crescent Club. Guests came out to show unwavering support for their brother, neighbor, and friend. The celebration of Irish heritage continued Sunday as onlookers felt the blessing of perfect weather as they watched the parade move down New York Avenue before turning down Main Street. It was a weekend of fun, celebration, and comradery.

2019 Thanksgiving Food Drive

The Ancient Order of Hibernians once again took to the street of Huntington with a giving heart filled with Christian Charity. The Thanksgiving turkey dinner drive commenced in what has become an annual staple in the AOH’s yearly calendar. Members, young and old, arrived early Saturday, November 23, to collect and package complete Thanksgiving dinners for distribution to those local families in need. Hundreds of families will experience the joy of a Thanksgiving dinner this year, a joy so many of us take for granted. The Thanksgiving food drive takes place at the AOH hall every year, and they are always looking for hard-working volunteers. Keep an eye on our calendar for the date and time of the 2020 drive.
